The Callington Space Centre is a project aiming to promote interest in astronomy and space science throughout the community.
Based at Callington in Cornwall, UK (50° 30" 10' N , 4° 18" 57' W) the Space Centre is working hard, through education at Primary, Secondary and Adult levels, to increase awareness of the universe in which we live.
The role of space in education is to help create the citizens of tomorrow.
Callington Community College and the Callington Space Centre are working closely with N.A.S.A., the Russian Space Agency and Setpoint, to push forward the frontiers of technology and science with each new generation of students.
It is also a multi-purpose learning environment which is available to all the community.
We aim to bring education to life through Space, emphasising the importance of Science, Technology, team work, community skills and the environment.
The Space Centre is acknowledged as unique in its approach and has recently been short listed for an Arthur Clarke Award in Education.
We aim to create a multi-purpose learning environment available to all of the community.
